The TSI CCVF100 Compact Catalytic Vapour Filter is designed to nearly totally eliminate the hydrocarbon vapours emitted from the exhaust of butanol/isopropyl alcohol-based Condensation Particle Counters (CPCs), ensuring a clean environment in the vicinity of the instruments.

 

The CCFV100 uses a catalyst to oxidize the CPC’s effluent alcohol vapour and emits it as pure CO2 and H2O gas, much in the same way as catalytic converter in an automobile works. Since the catalyst is not consumed and operates continuously, the CCFV100 eliminates the need for costly and wasteful charcoal filters, which must be changed at regular intervals due to their limited storage capacity and often require disposal as hazardous waste. The CCFV100 has a self-contained control system with safety alarm and indicator, is very highly insulated, and has a built-in cooling coil in the exhaust to ensure safe, continuous operation.
