Healthcare worker using PortaCount

Mask fit testing professionals, we salute you!

As members of the mask fit testing community, we should all be proud of our achievements in promoting respiratory health and the tremendous effort we’ve put into ensuring the safety of the public during the pandemic.

Mask fit testers – the unsung heroes of the pandemic

Mask fit testing professionals working in the health care sector in Australia and New Zealand have led the way in ensuring the proper fitting of respiratory protective equipment, saving lives of frontline workers and patients alike.  Furthermore, fit testers operating in the mining and construction industries have kept workers safe and the wheels of our economy turning during these unprecedented times.

A big thank you goes to our customers  for your  patience and understanding as Kenelec Scientific had to rapidly adjust our business and processes to meet the surging demand for quantitative fit testing devices caused by the pandemic.

In particular, we would like to thank our customers in governmental departments, and the mining and construction industries who have trusted us as the supplier of choice for TSI 8038 and TSI 8048 PortaCount Respirator Fit Testers.

To our resellers and distributors, we’d  like to extend a heartfelt thank you for your support and professionalism.  Your expertise and knowledge of local markets played a tremendous role in the timely delivery of mask fit testing devices when and where it was needed most.

The surging demand for PortaCount calibration and servicing

During the pandemic the ANZ region emerged as the largest procurement base globally for the 8048 which led to Kenelec Scientific supplying, calibrating and servicing a record number of PortaCount units.

To those providing products and services to our fit testing heroes, and in particular to our colleagues at Kenelec Scientific, we wish to say well done and thank you for the way in which you’ve stepped up to respond to the increased demand for quantitative fit testing devices in the ANZ region.

Improvements in Calibration and Service operations

We are the first to acknowledge that like many other businesses we have not always been able to sustain the exceptional levels of service we were so well known for before the pandemic.

We are however pleased to report that as a result of recent upgrades to our calibration and service infrastructure and after a substantial investment in additional resources, we have seen a consistent improvement in our calibration and service department, and a return to our standard turnaround times.

We are also pleased to share that we will soon be opening a new National Service Centre dedicated to calibration and service operations.  This upgrade in our facilities along with the hiring of additional staff and the investment in additional particle counters,  will allow us to continue to calibrate and service the largest fleet of quantitative fit testing devices in the ANZ region.

From all of us at Kenelec Scientific, we sincerely thank all our customers and industry partners for your loyalty, understanding, patience and ongoing support.

Together we will emerge from the pandemic, bigger, better, stronger and fighting fit to meet the demand for fit testing in the years ahead!
