PortaCount Calibration desk

Calibration – Safety First!

How often do you need to calibrate your PortaCount®  unit?

At least once every twelve months by a provider who is:

  • TSI factory authorised and
  • TSI factory trained

Regular calibration by a TSI factory authorised and trained provider, is the only way to ensure your PortaCount® unit reliably continues to operate at the highest possible standard.

Why choose Kenelec Scientific?

As the exclusive distributor and only authorised service centre in Australia, Kenelec Scientific will calibrate your instrument to ensure its measurement is consistent with reference measurements provided by our TSI authorised calibration bench.

We also adjust internal components like internal lasers and pumps to calibrate your instrument to exacting measurement standards.

Only a TSI authorised service centre is able to adjust the Portacount®.    At best, a third-party calibration company can only do an “as found” verification.

Is my calibration certificate authentic?

A mask fit test is only valid if it is performed on a machine with a valid calibration certificate. End users frequently require our calibration certificates for mask testing devices.

Only a TSI authorised service centre such as Kenelec Scientific can provide you with a valid calibration certificate.

What are the dangers of using third party providers?

The unit may not be calibrated properly. If it has been calibrated or serviced by an unauthorised centre using non-TSI parts or unauthorized methods it can lead to:

  • the unit being damaged
  • the unit potentially providing inaccurate results
  • your TSI warranty being voided.
  • no replacement of critical TSI parts

Does a fit test with a non-calibrated PortaCount®  put people at risk?

As a fit-tester, you could suffer reputational damage or worse if people under your care enter hazardous environments wearing poorly fitted masks.

A properly calibrated PortaCount®  by Kenelec Scientific’s TSI trained and authorised technicians, results in the most reliable mask fit test for your customers and colleagues.

What does a PortaCount®  calibration involve?

  • An initial review and verification to see if your unit is working properly.
  • Installation of the most current firmware
  • Interior is cleaned, serviced and inspected.
  • Parts that experience wear and tear over time like tubes, gaskets and filters are replaced.

Before returning your unit we also replace some of the accessories and consumables originally contained in your instrument case.

Are generic parts used?

Our factory trained technicians only use original TSI parts to service your unit and verify it works correctly.

Keep people safe and put your trust in Kenelec Scientific to perform regular and TSI approved calibrations on your PortaCount® mask fit testing unit.
