Recent developments @ ITS

Since our last newsletter a range of projects are now coming to completion. These will significantly improve all the areas of instrumentation that Industrial Tomography Systems (ITS) is involved in.

ITS’s primary Electrical Resistance Tomography platform – the p2000 – has had a substantial makeover and is being upgraded as the p2+.

ITS awarded grant to develop an in-line sensor for rheological characterisation of materials

ITS have been awarded a Research and Development Grant from Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) to evaluate the feasibility of developing a combined in-line sensor for the rheological characterisation of materials.

Industry snapshot: Mining

Given that one of the early researchers in process tomography – Professor Richard Williams - has a background in mining, it is not surprising that there are many potential applications of the technology in this sector.

Application insight

One of the interesting aspects of process tomography is how the same unit process can be found across a range of industries. One of the most common is the transport of slurries.
