Single-channel SMARTTUNE Constant Temperature Anemometer - IFA300

The IFA 300 Anemometer is a research-grade instrument designed for high performance, fully automated operation and a frequency response of 250 kHz or greater. Difficult adjustments to maximize frequency response are unnecessary. Exclusive SMARTTUNE™ bridge compensation technology (patent applied for) does all the work. Change probes, probe supports, even sensor types, and still get maximum performance. Get excellent frequency response and the lowest noise, with no special 1 to 1 bridge required. The computer-selectable, high power bridge lets you operate even power hungry sensors.

SMARTTUNE technology revolutionizes bridge circuit control and tuning. The circuit runs at a stable frequency regardless of flow velocity changes, with control based on fast feedback measurement of bridge voltage. The anemometer operates at a high frequency response, using the control signal to keep the system below its natural oscillation frequency. Film and wire sensors can both be operated with similar frequency response without retuning.

In a system, Windows-based software and an A/D board, enables enables full control of all anemometer functions.

Supports and Adapters - Single Sensor Probe

Most TSI Thermal Anemometry probes are built with a plug-in connector. Thus, they require a probe support which serves to support the probe and provide an electrical connection to the anemometer. TSI probe supports come in a wide variety of configurations and lengths, for both single- and dual-sensor probes (standard three-sensor probes are designed with a probe support built-in), and for either gas or liquid flows. Right angle adapters, available for both single- and dual-sensor probes, allow probe mounting in an end flow orientation, even when the probe support is mounted in a cross flow arrangement. Totally immersible probe supports are also available for liquid applications.

Dual Sensor Probe Supports

Most TSI Thermal Anemometry probes are built with a plug-in connector. Thus, they require a probe support which serves to support the probe and provide an electrical connection to the anemometer. TSI probe supports come in a wide variety of configurations and lengths, for both single- and dual-sensor probes (standard three-sensor probes are designed with a probe support built-in), and for either gas or liquid flow applications. Right angle adapters, available for both single- and dual-sensor probes, allow probe mounting in an end flow orientation, even when the probe support is mounted in a cross flow arrangement. Totally immersible probe supports are also available for liquid flow applications.

Probe Sheilds

Completely protects sensor while providing opening for cross flow measurements. Probe can be extended beyond end for unobstructed measurements. Fits Model 1150 probe supports.

Mounting Blocks - 1138/1137

Provides sealing fitting for probe traversing and for mounting probe supports to the wall of a test section.

Probe Accessories

Model 1304 control resistors are used with bridges that have a 5 to 1 ratio, such as TSI's 1750 and 1050/1053/1054 anemometers. The Model 1305 control resistors are used with bridges that have a 1 to 1 bridge ratio such as the 1:1 bridge used for high frequency applications of TSI's IFA100 and 1050 anemometers.

Thermocouple Probes

Measures temperature of measurement environment. Thermocouple Type-T copper-constantan.
