Chemtrac's new TruTrac turbidimeter continuously monitors, records, and reports (integrated with SCADA) turbidity compliance data for municipal water filtration processes. The TM 2200 incorporates a sample degassing chamber and a removable flow cell to simplify unit calibration and maintenance. A local display prompts the user with calibration steps, diagnostic data, and immediate turbidity data without the need for a laptop or data recorder. The TruTrac design permits easy access to light source for maintenance and replacement. Utilizing provided software the operator can retrieve stored data and view reporting from the local unit. By incorporating an all in one package, the TM 2200 simplifies installation and assists the operator with monitoring water quality from multiple filter effluents.

The instrument incorporates streaming current technology to produce a measurement of electrokinetic charge (ionic & colloidal) using a sample obtained from various points in the process (Headbox, Coated Broke, Machine Chest, TrayWater, etc..). The sample is then titrated with a low molecular weight polymer of the opposite charge to bring the sample to a neutral charge. The amount of titrant consumed by the sample is used to quantify the level of charge (anionic or cationic) present in the furnish. The result, given as Charge Demand, can be used to effectively control the addition of cationic additives (starch, polymers, coagulants, etc..) in order to stabilize charge disturbances. Reducing or even eliminating charge variability stabilizes the wet end and helps optimize and reduce feed rates of expensive additives while also improving paper qualities.

Self-cleaning: ACTEON 2051 Suspended solids meter with self-cleaning system. Simple, sturdy and reliable like its legendary predecessor, the APF series, with additional digital intelligence and leading-edge technology. The optics are cleaned by a fast-action scraper. This is a polyurethane scraper powered by a stainless steel piston. When the scraper is at rest, it is completely embedded in its housing. This piston system (Ponsel invention) prevents fibres from getting entwined around the axle. A control unit (SNA) can be used to program how often the cleaning is to be carried out: 5 strokes every 15, 30, 60 minutes.
