For those of you
who are unaware, in September TSI released their long awaited new generation
of advanced DustTrak monitors. These state-of-the-art units are simply unmatched
in performance and technology. With gravimetric filter collection, wider
sizing and concentration ranges, VGA color touch screen display, larger
data storage capacity, more communications options, both single PM fraction
and multiple simultaneous PM fraction monitoring, 50 hour battery life and
many other advanced features, these units are a dream for the dust monitoring
professional. In the first 8 weeks since their release Kenelec Scientific
has sold over $800,000.00 worth of these exciting
new devices with demand growing daily. These units can be used as portable
handheld units or can be incoporated into the wide range of transportable

New Tripod Based Dust Monitoring Systems Now Available
With
the release of the latest generation of TSI DustTraks and the huge demand
for field based dust monitoring stations, Kenelec Scientific has developed
27 different transportable tripod based dust monitoring stations to choose
from. These 27 stations cover our most popular configurations, however
we are still building custom systems for companies day to day. Transportable
systems can be powered by either mains, batteries or via solar panels for
permanant field use. Data can either be collected manually, via dial up
GSM / NEXTG mobile, SMS message, RF radio, satellite, FTP to web browser
or other means. Tripod based systems are amongst the most popular systems
we sell as they are easily moved to and from a site and easily setup and
used. They are ideal for a wide variety of applications such as road work,
mining, quarries, fugative dust emission monitoring, ambient air monitoring
and anywhere correlation monitoring is desired. |

New Fixed Dust Monitoring Systems Now Available
As with the tripod based systems above,
27 new fixed DustTrak based ambient air monitoring stations are now available.
Custom versions of these are also possible. Fixed stations are basically
tripod based systems without the tripod. They can be mounted on poles, on
buildings, in and around sites to perform permanant real-time laser based
dust monitoring. They can be powered by all the same means as the tripod
based systems and they have all the same data collection / telemetry capabilities.
Fixed systems can be bolted in place to stop tampering or theft. They are
sometimes partnered with wind speed, wind direction and other environmental
sensors. Tripod based systems can do the same. Fixed systems are the ultimate
solution for companies wanting to do permanent ambient air / correlation
dust monitoring. Kenelec Scientific can provide the fixed enclosures ready
to go, or you can use your own and mount the instruments inside. |

New
TSI PortaCount Models Now Available
In September 2008 TSI launched their long
awaited new generation of TSI Portacount units. And WOW, they were worth
the wait. A massive step up on the older models, with touch screen VGA color
displays, mass data storage, built-in N95 companion, improved sampling efficiency,
less reliance on a particle generator, no need for a laptop or software
(although software is still supplied) and many other advanced features.
If you have not seen one, now is the time. Call us for a free trial of a
unit. Those companies with older model PortaCount units, regardless of the
age or condition, can trade them in towards the newer models for a credit
of up to $3,500 (varies depending on model
and age). The new 8030 model replaces the previous 8020 model and the new
8038 universal system replaces the previous 8028 system. Feel free to contact

PMS Lasair III Particle Counters Now Shipping
For those who have ordered the new Lasair
III series particle counters, you should either have your units now or be
getting them soon. The new Lasair III represents the latest technology in
portable particle counting from world renowned Particle Measuring Systems.
A variety of precision models are available with flow rates up to 100lpm.
They have colour touch screen displays, a built-in printer, extensive data
storage, are fully 21CFR-II compliant and much more. They can even now be

Viable Air Samplers
Particle Measuring Systems has launched
a new range of Microbial Air Samplers. These state-of-the-art units offer
features and performance beyond other generic brand instruments on the market
and are the only truly ISO14698 compliant units we have found. We have both
stand-alone models and also models that incorporate a real-time non viable
particle counter. Complete installed online systems are also available for

Five
New Horiba Water Quality Meters Now Available
Horiba have recently released 5 new multi-parameter
water quality meters that have to be seen to be believed. With 10,000 point
data logging, menu driven display and many other advanced features these
models are a vast improvement on the previous U10 & U22 models. Like
the previous models, these new models are expected to be rugged, reliable
and easy to use, which will appeal to the larger community of water quality

Introducing
the New Eureka Manta 2
Building on the success and popularity of the existing Eureka
Manta and Amphibian water quality meters comes the release of the Eureka
Manta 2. There are 5 new versions of this precision deployment probe which
are smaller and more feature packed then the previous versions. The Manta
probes can be used by themselves with software and a cable, or can be connected
to the Eureka pocket PC based Amphibian unit, which has all the features
and power of a pocket computer in the palm of your hand. |

NATA Accredited Laboratory for Particle Counters
In September 2008 Kenelec Scientific opened
our newest facility, a NATA accredited
state-of-the-art calibration laboratory for the precision calibration of
both air and liquid particle counters. Companies using PMS, TSI and other
brand optical particle counters can now send their units in to be professionally
and quickly calibrated at very competitive prices. The calibration documentation
provided is arguably the finest in Australia and our laboratory is staffed
by industry professionals with decades of experience. The extensive number
of companies that have standardized on PMS online and portable particle
counters can now, buy, rent, service and have calibrated their counters
from one reliable source. |

Local TSI PortaCount Calibration Facility
In December 2008 Kenelec Scientific plans
to open yet another laboratory. This long awaited laboratory will provide
hundreds of customers using TSI PortaCount Respirator Fit Testers with
fast and more affordable PortaCount calibrations. The laboratory should
be able to turn calibrations around in a matter of days rather than weeks,
where instruments previously had to be sent overseas. For more information

Kenelec
Provides Air Monitors for Beijing Olympics
Throughout the Beijing Olympics TSI DustTrak
and related instruments were used by both Australian media crews and international
media crews in the constant monitoring of air quality levels. Many of our
clients reported seeing the popular DustTraks on national TV in the evening,
some even noticed they were also used on Good Morning America and other
programs. Kenelec Scientific was supporting Channel 7 in their monitoring
and reporting efforts and was proud to be involved in such an important
memorable event. |

Monitors Air Quality Throughout Beijing Olympics
TSI internationally
was also very heavily involved in monitoring at the Beijing Olympics.
Constant measurements were being taken by a wide variety of organisations
in sports stadiums and venues through Beijing. Local & foreign newspapers
and TV news stations were reporting results around the clock. TSI
instruments that were used in Beijing include the popular Q-Trak IAQ Meter,
VelociCalc Air Velocity Meters, DustTrak Portable Aerosol Monitor, TSI
3031 online ultrafine station and the SidePak AM510 Personal Aerosol Monitor.

Queensland
EPA Buys New 3031 Ultrafine Monitor
The latest generation online ultrafine
particle monitoring station (as also used at the Beijing Olympics) was
recently purchased by the QLD EPA. This new station will compliment the
EPAs existing TSI ultrafine monitors and should provide much more valuable
data in the monitoring and analysis of ultrafine particles. As well as
continuing traditional air quality monitoring it is admirable to see QLD
EPA lead the way nationally in the continuous monitoring of potentially
hazardous ultrafine particles.
